Conservation Lands and Living Laboratories

Ann's Backyard Forest seeks small, disturbed forested areas along biological flow zones (defined and identified by The Nature Conservancy) to act as steppingstones for vulnerable (defined by NatureServe) landscapes and species in response to climate change and associated natural disasters.

These lands will be placed in land trusts for the dedicated purpose of restoration research aligned with nature-based solutions (as defined by the Department of the Interior), inclusion strategies, and the distribution of stewardship principles through art engagement.

For ABF Living laboratories are managed to support restoration experimentation, ecological monitoring, and engagement while simultaneously protecting biodiversity.
