Ann was selected as one of 25 climate change STEAM reserachers worldwide to join a 24-day Antarctic research expedition begining in February 2026.

 

The final expedition was comprised of 22 women from multiple countries, ethnicities, cultures, and professional backgrounds, including science, engineering, law, policy, communications, photography, education, and history.  We worked to coordinate and deliver a collaboratively led scientific and outreach programme in the Southern Ocean and Antarctica.

 

Ann's Backyard Forest participation will be shared on multiple platforms including through virtual presentations to ensure that polar research is translated into practical, place-based investigation and learning to promote stewardship and conservation actions - in backyards and around the world.
