Citizen Science observations contribute to understanding of species. Each observation offers an opportunity to better understand that particular species and its habitat. The conditions necessary for successful populations act as indicators about the environment in which the animals are found. Habitat features like water quality, air quality, pray populations, shelter and den sites, or even pesticide use are indirectly monitored through citizen science projects.
